I researched online to find the exact cause of this and couldn't find much. In fact, that appears to be around the time I had transferred it up to Home! However, as you can see in the picture below, I still have the Wondercard from redeeming it in person, showing I in fact did get it in 2009 at the Toys R Us distribution. As an example, here is a legitimate Arceus I obtained back in 2009 for Pearl.Īs you can see, the obtained date is very recent. Apparently, when we transfer a pokemon from Gen 4 (and probably earlier too), the obtained date gets modified. Which brings me to the purpose of this thread. The thought never occurred to me that in transferring the pokemon, their obtained dates would be messed up if they came from prior to Gen 5. At the time, my main concern was just preserving all my valuable pokemon, whether they be the originals I used in my playthroughs or events that have been long gone. However, that whole situation put me in a panic and within a day or so of that happening, I decided to re-purchase bank, buy the premium plan for home and transfer everything to home. I eventually found them and to my relief, most my pokemon were in fact still in their respective games! I refused to believe that was true though and searched for all my old games to confirm. I thought I had stored them in bank and they got deleted after I forgot to renew it for years.
